Internal audit: A major police department wanted a detailed audit of its internal communications in order to determine what was working successfully and what could be improved. The force wanted a firm that would understand and respect the need for both internal and external confidentiality, and would understand the complexities of their communications system.

QUAY was able to guarantee confidentiality, instilling trust in the process and generating open and honest feedback. QUAY helped identify twelve recommendations that could be implemented to create positive change and results. Noting the hierarchical nature of the communications structure and the need to evaluate and measure results, QUAY recommended a cascading communications system that would yield clear categories for evaluation and determine whether messages were in fact getting through the system.

QUAY presented the report to the board, offering an impartial, third-party perspective that highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of the current communications system. This perspective increased the board’s confidence in moving forward with the twelve recommendations.
